History was made Sunday as Spain won their first World Cup championship.
La Roja beat England 1-0 to capture the title, which came a year after 15 players resigned from the team.
Olga Carmona scored the lone goal in the match with a stunning strike that sent the ball across the pitch and into the corner of the net. It was her second goal of the tournament.
At the World Cup, not only is the top team celebrated, but the top players receive accolades as well. Every tournament awards a Golden Ball to the best player, a Golden Boot to the top-scorer and a Golden Glove to the best goalkeeper.
